Full Time High School Senior Math, Science, Biology & Chemistry Teachers

We are growing significantly, and have recently completed our first full year in our new school space in the beautiful Rockcliffe/Lindenlea neighbourhood, and are currently accepting applications for full-time High School "Science Speciality Teachers".

Job details include:
- Planning (short and long range plans), delivering (dynamic lesson plans) and assessing curriculum (using rubrics and direct understanding/application of the Ontario High School Curriculum).
- Facilitation of safe and effective Science labs.
- Helping identify and integrating experiences outside of the classroom to enrich the curriculum lessons. This can include bringing in specialists or special guest to enrich learning.
- Ensuring the follow up and support of students who may be having difficulty in the course and ensuring success.
- Supervision duties. (these allows for a different type of interaction with students and builds community and connection).
- Attendance at Parent teacher meetings.
- Reporting 4x per year
- Participation in annual school reviews facilitated by the Ministry of Education
- Participation in all bi-weekly staff meetings, as well as key large scale school events
The ideal candidate will have:
- Min 1 - 3 years experience teaching the the High School level
- OCT accreditation or like/transferable accreditation from another Province or Country
- Qualifications in Intermediate/Senior Math and Chemistry.
- Enthusiastic and energetic, with the desire to jump in and support students and the school when needed.
- Experience in planning, facilitating and assessing units according to the Ontario Curriculum.
- Experience "enriching" base curriculum, to create dynamic lesson plans and push students further.
- A proven ability to work with students who require support and /or have an IEP (Individual Education Plan).
- French (or a second language) is an asset, but not required.
- Experience using the full Google suite of products (Google Classroom, Pages, Docs, Slides, etc.), as well as SmartBoard Technology.
- WHMIS and Workplace Health & Safety certificates.
Our High School follows the full September to June calendar.
